lyrics
Silence! Approaching storm,
breaks! crimson air choking me
as death awakes
Witness! My brothers die
Pain! filling me, changing me
mindless rage
No control, mind is shaking,
hated men, before me quaking,
pathetic lives, mine for taking,
by my hand i watch them breaking!
Shackles forged in blood
by our deadly revelry
what fools we have become
thinking we were free
drink deep this cup of hate
paths no longer seen
mere echoes in the wind
all will cease to be
Hate, burning soul ablaze
suffocating, all consuming
cry of rage
Kill! my sacrifice this day
blood for altars raised to nothing
endless pain
No control mind is screaming
cannot sleep, see them bleeding
frenzied wrath, no more feeling
between my teeth I hear them weeping
Shackles forged in blood
by our deadly revelry
what fools we have become
thinking we were free
drink deep this cup of hate
paths no longer seen
mere echoes in the wind
all will cease to be
Why is this, for which we fought?
All for nothing, all for naught?
Cruel fate, stark beauty
so i summon nihility
Why is this, for which we fought?
All for nothing, soon forgot?
Cruel fate, dead beauty,
take my soul and set me free
Why is this for which we fought,
all for nothing, all for naught,
cruel fate embraces me
take my soul nihility!

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

I'd say Havukruunu is the rightful holder of the Crown and the mantle of Quorthon. Epic choirs, vikingesque themes and tales from the other times, of the Finnish paganism back in the days before our ancestors were brought to the cross and forced to kneel while feeling the bloody sword of saviour on their throats made to kiss the hand of murderers who burnt thousands, tore down our holy places and took our holy days. Eyes teary I listen to these songs, never forgiving the crimes of the cross! Peikonmieli

A Pagan black metal masterpiece.
Folk and black metal elements fuse into one extremely catchy and awe inspiring album. This band does not disappoint from all the high praise sent it's way. Abyssius Murkraken

Mikolaj is a real multi-talent in bass as well as guitar as well as vocals and "Darkside" Maciej's drumming is a well-calibrated 100th-of-seconds-clockwork. Not for nothing is Mgla considered as a standard for a lot of other blacker-than-black metal bands. I hope to see this band live once..... grote_smurf
